GRATITUDE
There’s
so many, I cannot count,
The
wonderful gifts I’ve been given.
The
greatest one that I have found
Is
the freedom to do my own livin’.
I’ve
been blessed with good times and bad,
Which
gave me a measuring stick,
To
stay on track and find my mark,
With
many choices from which to pick.
I’ve
had my chance to dance ?til dawn,
To
be loved and to love,
To
give as well as to receive,
Life’s
blessing from above.
I’ve
had my children and raised them,
I’ve
watched my parents grow old,
Which
I consider a blessing,
And
then there’s the blessing of gold.
I’ve
traveled the earth, and I’ve seen
The
wonders of this special place,
From
east and west and north and south,
And
even been given my own special space.
I’ve
lived the American dream
With
benefits that I have been handed,
From
a democratic society,
Right
from birth where I landed.
And
for that I give special thanks,
To
the One who was in charge,
At
the time of my beginnings,
And
allowed me to remain at large.
